Cameron Richardson is an internationally sought-after voice teacher, particularly renowned for his work with clients in lead roles on Broadway, London’s West End and in TV and film. As Head of the Musical Theatre programme at Cambridge University, he has a particular interest in mentoring the next generation of talent. He trained at The Juilliard School, Cambridge University (UK) and the Royal Academy of Music (London) and has performed at most of the world’s major venues: Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, BBC Proms, Royal Festival Hall etc, before devoting himself to the mentorship of other gifted performers. Cameron has also served on the staff of The Juilliard School and New York University.

The teachers
Having led many singers from their early lessons to high-profile mainstream careers, Cameron founded The Vocal Coaches to cope with extreme demand for lessons. He has personally handpicked an exclusive team of outstanding associate teachers who together oversee the development of students from across the globe. These teachers were all selected for their position at the forefront of the industry, whether as lead performers on Broadway and the West End, or as coaches for major TV talent shows such as The Voice, X Factor etc.

When you submit your application, it will be reviewed by Cameron and you will be paired with the teacher who is most suited to your particular needs. This may be Cameron or one of his associates. If more discussion is required, you will be invited to attend a consultation.

Teacher pairings are based on your needs as specified in your application form. You may wish to indicate that you are particularly interested in working with him. Please note that entry into Cameron’s own studio requires a consultation beforehand and is subject to availability.

Once you receive the outcome of your application, you will be given a link to the booking calendar of your new teacher, where you can go ahead and book your first lesson. You will also be sent a unique discount code to use for that lesson.

While many of our clients are working professionally in musical theatre, our team of teachers have been selected to cover pop, country, musical theater/Disney and classical/opera. The information you submit in your form will affect which teacher you are paired with.

Yes! We warmly welcome applications from people at various stages in their vocal development, from complete beginners to seasoned professionals. Whether you’re taking lessons just for personal enjoyment, to join a local choir or amateur dramatic group, or to follow your dreams to stardom, you are equally welcome.

We have had numerous students who were extremely reluctant to make sound during their first lesson or consultation. Fast-forward a year, and they’ve been in their school show (often as the lead), have joined groups outside of school, and have a whole new set of like-minded friends. Learning to sing and perform in front of people is a critical life skill. In fact, confidence is so important to us that we also have a dedicated Mindset Coach on our faculty.
