Reilly Nelson

Canadian mezzo-soprano Dr. Reilly Nelson brings a rare warmth and generosity to her teaching, rooted in a rigorous classical foundation and a genuine love of helping people discover what their voice can do. Whether she's working with a lifelong choral singer looking to grow, a musical theatre performer building their range, or someone finding their voice for the very first time, Reilly's patient, encouraging approach puts students at ease and helps them make real progress at their own pace.

A performer with an active international career, Reilly has appeared as a young artist and guest soloist with companies including the Glimmerglass Festival, Cincinnati Opera, Kentucky Opera, and Tiroler Festspiele Erl (Austria), and as a soloist with orchestras including The Phoenix Symphony, Rochester Philharmonic, and Reno Philharmonic, performing repertoire from Beethoven's 9th Symphony to Mozart's Requiem and Bach's St. Matthew Passion. She holds a doctorate in vocal performance and trained at the Eastman School of Music, Cincinnati College Conservatory of Music, and Tanglewood.

Reilly took second prize in the Kurt Weill Foundation's Lotte Lenya Competition and was a winner of the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions. She brings the same care and attentiveness to the studio that has defined her performing career — creating a space where students feel supported as they grow into more confident, expressive singers.

Reilly Nelson is delighted to be a member of the Vocal Coaches faculty.
